If you’d of told me preseason…

- Vieira will see us cruise through year in mid table obscurity
- We’d reach Wembley
- We’d have a fresh looking squad with exciting young players who may still get better
- We’d be playing a new, more attractive style of football almost directly contrast to Roy’s (Still a hero nonetheless).
- There’d be a real sense of unity at the club
- We’d get 4 points off the champions, thrash Arsenal, finish with beating United
- A whole lot more positives

…I’d of likely scoffed and called the Maudsley.

I will always maintain the right to moan, criticise, speculate and irrationally despair as a Palace fan, I will also staunchly support others to do so, within reason, as I consider it requisite of a true fan.

It’s a massive and standing ovation from me for Pat, his team, all staff and of course the players.

Hope for a good summer window, incomings and outgoings, decade in PL, new stadium updates, optimism for future and whilst others may well disagree, considering the pandemic and general state of the world etc., I think this is a fantastic time to be a Palace fan.

There’ll be plenty to entertain ourselves in the meantime, transfer talk will no doubt be lively, others as ever, but my best wishes and love to you all! We can sit back, relax and dream of what may yet be!

COYP!!!!!!!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I posted somewhere before the season started that I would be happy to stay up, have a bit of a cup run and for our home form to be better. We have exceeded my expectations comfortably. It has been one of the most enjoyable seasons for a long time. Had some great away days ( I only saw them lose once on the road - Wembley apart) and our home form and performances have been great. 👏

For some reason i felt flat after beating manu , we have had a great season with younger players and manager , but when i look at 4th down to us ,we under achieved silly i know , and it was nothing todo with PV he changed our world , I really really hope we kick on and get in to Europe next season , because there is so much about this squad . so i will raise a glass or two this club for other reasons than staying up . COYP

before people jump on it the PV comment was about the under achieve is not his fault

I think it fair to say ‘we could have…’, ‘if not for the draws’, ‘X needs to go etc’.

But that’s a fantastic position to be in having genuine cases to pursue these gripes after finishing 12th in the prem!

I feel a bit disappointed..we should have finished higher up as our goal difference shows. A top 10 finish was on and the game against at Everton, plus the semi final loss are going to be sore for me.

Still, it's been much better than Royball, and 12th is alright. Just a shame how many points we threw away this season.

Best bit for me today was when that little toddler dribbled down the pitch and scored in the Homesdale. The cheer he got was like our winning goal. Good on you all. What a moment for life. It’s why we’re Palace!!

We’ve never been in danger of getting relegated or getting involved in the mix at any point this season and that’s a great achievement. The only thing that I’m disappointed about is that when Vieira came in I was expecting to see a lot more of the youngsters getting a chance but that hasn’t happened. I can only assume that they’re not good enough which is a shame.

This has been a season of transition for the club.

A new manager, and the players having to learn a new style of playing. Mistakes were made, silly points dropped, but these were to be expected with such a major overhaul of how the team played.

But, all in all, I believe this first season post-Roy the team has massively exceeded expectations.

Mid table finish, FA Cup Semi Final, positive goal difference...who'd have thought it at the beginning of the season?

As the old saying goes, "Onwards and upwards"
