It’s on itv4 at the moment. Match time revisited. I expect you can get it on demand as well

I know we lost, but still great memories for me of a cracking atmosphere and a packed away end after travelling round the country with only a few of us in the away ends.

Blimey that was a memorable first game!!

I was trying to pick my 17 year old self out behind the goal, hard to believe it’s 40 years ago now

By contrast, this was the year that I seriously discovered girls and decided to restrict Palace to the teleprinter for a few years.

After the Mullery debacle and our rapid decline, I just couldn't stand staring at the pathetic new Sainsbury's end any more.

Fortunately, Ian Wright and co resurrected my enthusiasm.

Just watched it on catch up, i would have been 17 also, at the game, but i cant every remember Jim Cannon playing in Midfield, one of Kember's masterstrokes

No me neither, funny enough when watching it earlier as Brian Moore was reading the teams out, I thought hold on a minute, Wicks, Cannon AND Gilbert, that didn’t add up as it was years before teams started playing 3 at the back.

Also something that’s changed these days, Glenn Roeder bringing Vince down, definite sending off now!!

Without doubt, cynical.

Me and my mate both 15, could only get tickets behind the goal at their end. Had to get out when the goal went in, as our cover was blown. Then walking back to White City we were worried we were going to get attacked by Palace fans! Then we were worried we would get caught up in the Chelsea v Spurs QF WW3, that was also going on that day down the road in SW6.

I remember us making a break for it at the final whistle only to get as far as the corner flag, because we stopped to watch the mayhem unfolding on the pitch, the late Denny Warren(RIP) giving several stewards and police the runaround before they managed to pin him down was quite a sight

I said we ran the north bank! He laughed and people looked at me. Then my mate, a goober from Islington walked in- qpr shouted Steve-he raecons palace ran the north bank! Steve said-they did! I never felt so proud!
