Going through my email Archive I came across a message from an old Palace-supporting friend who had emigrated to the US. It simply read "O we of little faith! Astonishing!" and he'd sent it in early May 2014. In March we had been in or near the relegation zone, but then went on a fantastic run.

On 29th March, having not won at home since 8th February, we beat Chelsea 1-0, thanks to Terry's own goal. We then beat Cardiff away, thereby easing Brighton's relegation worries, then Villa at home and Everton and West Ham away, this last one giving us mathematical safety. Our last three games produced a win, a defeat and a draw - the win being that epic match against Liverpool. Astonishing indeed.
