Just a discussion - but reports in the papers that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be sold this summer. It is well documented that our right back position needs to be strengthen.

Simply put - should we try to sign him

yes or no?

Unfortunately No,

I think we sold a promising RB with a bright future.

We would now buy someone who has gone backwards in his key developmental years.

Sad to see

For a cheeky 10 to 15 million.
He is a great tackler and can improve under a good coach.

His problem is that he isn't so good in a team that plays primarily attacking football.

He would strengthen our back four, but would not necessarily be the sort of player that Vieira wants.

Unless we have someone that we're 100% convinced of instead, it'd be an open arm return for me should it materialise.

He wasn't what United need/wanted for sure, but they have been a poison chalice club for quite a while now and I still think he has a lot to offer, especially if he's home.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

AWB is a very capable 1 v 1 defender but I would prefer a full-back who provides a more attacking threat.

No.

Terrific last ditch tackler and VERY quick but nowhere near good enough going forward. We made a fortune on him and he’s NOT what we are looking for as an attacking right-back. Look elsewhere.

I doubt Man Utd are going to be selling half of what the media ,Roy “the best manager”. (Sic) Keane suggests - it’s BS media talk what next Palace will be linked with Messi & Ramos 🤣🤣

He is a young defender whom needs to Mature & Utd academy should try to do that & not sell him on so soon.

CPFC2010 likely have a buy back agreement yet I doubt it will be exercised.
AWB has been getting lots of game time so it would be hard for him to be rejected & comeback to Palace. It was different for Zaha he was warming some benches the move back made sense.

Did you notice AWB was moved to LB recently & did well

Yet We have Ward ( finding it hard ) Clynie ( actually stepped up big time )

I believe when Man Utd went in for AWB Parish was against selling him. Dougie and Roy persuaded him that the offer was very good and I suspect they saw limitations in his game and questioned his potential to develop further.

Let's be honest moat of us thought the offer was just too good for a lad who had only played about a season.

It was and is vindictive of United's haphazard transfer policy (if there even is one) who IMO sign names to appease fans and to try to show the world they are still `big man utd` The likes of Sancho and Ronaldo really illustrating this to me. Unless Ten Hag is allowed to make not only structural changes at utd but most importantly can alter the attitudes towards signings of those above him they will continue in the mess they are.

As for us and AWB. He was good for us, we got a very good price for him but we move on. I'd rather see us continue the policy of brining in younger players from the championship (Olise, Eze) or from France (Mateta) or players who have been trained at big clubs but can't break through to their first teams (Guehi).

I have said for a while that we really need to sign a RB. Spence on loan from Boro at Forest or Isiah Jones at Boro (Who is the reason Boro loaned spence to Forest) or Junior Sambia from Montpellier all fit this.

If the price is right I would be happy to have him back. United can be a graveyard for players so I would not hold his current poor form in a divisive dressing room of big personalities against him.

That said the price would have to be right, other options are available.

Buyer beware he comes with lack of focus at times.Penalisex by Utd for not turning up for training on more than 1 /2/ 3 occasions- would Dougie & Pat want to deal with that - knowing he did same early days at Palace
