According to the Mail we are in for this Peterborough teenage Centre Half, so are Spurs.

If he is as good as they say PV should point out he will have a better chance breaking into the Palace squad along side Mitchell and Guehi.

Few stories this morning that we have had a 4mill bid rejected by Peterborough's England U19 CB.

The Mail talk of him being worth £15m

We (apparently) have had a £4m bid rejected

Transfermarkt has his market value as less than £1m.

It will be interesting to see what the 'market' is actually willing to pay for him.

I forget the kids name, and that says it all . But this reminds me of us supposedly bidding for a boy at Ipswich, a couple of seasons back.
He did go to Swansea, for not to much in the end. 4 million has to be near it for a 19 year relatively untried . This could be his clubs best offer , if true, this side of another outstanding season for him, if not for ever as the case may be.

Flynn Downes. Went for just 1.5mill I believe.

Yeah, Ipswich wanted something like 8m, then he goes the following season for far far less.

Don't know anything about him but £4m seems like a pretty decent offer to me especially if we throw in a few add-ons as well. Nobody is going to pay £15m for a player untried at Premier League level.

Really? On the contrary, it's not that uncommon.
I believe we paid more than that for Guehi and he had no PL experience when we bought him. Likewise for Eze, the previous season.

Other players in the Championship who went for more than £15m without any PL experience include, off the top of my head, Benrahma and Watkins. I suspect there will have been others.

Having said that, Peterborough are now League 1. Less money down there so they'll try and hold out for as much as they can as did Ipswich, but it could well backfire. He does, though, have another 4 years on his contract but that might not help much if he's plying his trade in League 1 rather than in the Championship.

Forward players like Watkins and Benrahma always have a higher value than defensive players. As you say though those transfers were not off the back of a relegation which this one is.

All said though the Posh club president has taken to twitter to dismiss the offer: [Link]

I didn't realise people were still called Ronnie, that's what I'm taking away from this!

Looking forward to seeing Lenny and Des join the team too.

Eze had a few seasons and a lot of credit in the bank, olise was championship young player of the year, guehi made the play off final and was a Chelsea and England u21 player, this lad has played in a relegated side on his side in comparison
