I'ts tricky cos I don't think you can play Schlupp and Eze together as they play in the same position - and would playing Kouyate and McArthur together make us a bit too slow in midfield? I think Kouyate, McArthur and Schlupp would be too stodgy and defensive, so I'd start with Eze as his link play is better than Schlupp's - PV could choose Hughes instead of McArthur and then choose between Schlupp and Eze as the most advanced, attacking midfielder. Thoughts?

Kouyate and McArthur as the more defensive minded shield and Schlupp to push further forward which he is more than capable of doing. Schlupp doesn’t realise how good he actually is.

I wouldn't say that Schlupp and Eze paly in the same position, but I'd agree that they couldnt be 2 of the 3 midfielders. I think the choice will be down to how brave PV is feeling. Eze if he is, Macca or Hughes if he isn't. If Eze is the choice I don't think you can play JS too. So would have to go, CK, EE and JM/WH.

Kouyate,Jimmy Mac and Eze for me. Big pitch so hopefully Eze will have room to work his magic.

I doubt James MacArthur will last the 90 so best he starts and Hughes will be on the bench as his most natural replacement in the later stages My prediction is that JS will start and Eze will be an impact sub. Jeff has more defensive ability and I don't think we will be set up too advetourously. JS was part of the high intensity start against Arsenal and we'll want that again. Would be excellent for Eze to get a start or be an early sub on Sunday to give him some time on the pitch prior to Wembley. He could be our match winner.

Schlupp has been looking very good recently, making some positive runs at the opposition. Kouyate has also impressed and makes a real nuisance of himself as well as some fine passes. So I'd go with those two to start alongside Eze and keep Jimmy Mac for later if we need some tough guy tactics.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I think PV will go for Kouyate He tends to have a more defensive set up in the big games and these 3 are more experienced. We’ll see.

Schlupp played well in a deeper position than he usually does v Arsenal, but he's best as an advanced left sided midfielder (inside left in old money), Eze plays high up the pitch on the left and drifts inside, if he plays with Schlupp he'd have to play on the right side of midfield, it might work because Vieira is improving our players, Schlupp is great at breaking into attack from midfield but his positional sense has been lacking at times, but less so under Vieira.

If Jimmy Mac is fit enough to last 60 minutes I would start with him, Kouyate and Schlupp. Interesting that only really Kouyate is a certain starter in midfield.
