I read this on a Telegraph article on the Newsnow feed. I have seen it nowhere else and wonder if it is an April Fool's prank.

It says the rules have been changed to allow qualification for the Champions League through winning the Cup, but only if you are deemed a "big club". Thus, if say Chelsea lost all their final league games and ended up in 5th, they would still qualify if they won the Cup.

Palace would not qualify if we won.

Please tell me this is tosh.

Nah

True enough it's on the cards but won't kick in until they expand the CL in 2024. Being reported generally. Here's the Grauniad

The killer is that if City and Liverpool continue to crush it in the CL then it doesn't really matter much how badly the others such as United do.

There is an easy and preferred way to cut all that bs,,just win the bloody thing, we then qualify for the eorope league group stage.

Chelsea first they are there for the taking, then who know?

Its a super league through the back door and should be resisted as such

It would see a 'smaller' club say finnishing 3rd for the first time not qualifying because a team below them gets their spot as they are a 'bigger' club that has a history of playing in Europe .

Its not as if it hasnt happened before
