Radical new rules coming in from FIFA for next season concerning loan players. Maximum of EIGHT international players can be loaned out and in aged 22 and over. Maximum of THREE from one club.
National associations expected to follow at domestic level.
The idea behind this is to reduce the number of players being loaned out from one club. Eg Chelsea currently have over 20 loaned out. But obviously changes the landscape on incoming players dramatically. Will fall to six following season.

This is the window to 'make hay'. Clubs like Chelsea are going to have to shift a lot of players out or be stuck with insane wage bills.

I suspect that's why they let go of MG and Tino Livramento in the last window.

More to the point is the fact that many players instead of being loaned out will not be able to play at all as they won't be included in the squad of 25 so they will probably demand to be sold

But who is going to bring in up to 8 loan players. Seems a bit extreme to me.

Think I've posted this before.

My guess is that Chelsea are ahead of the curve on this one - at least to an extent. This news has been in the pipeline for quite a while. I don't think it's any accident they have recently offloaded among others

Guehi, Tomori, Livramento and Abraham

Think I'm right in saying they all have a buy back clause of some nature. Selling now allows them to avoid the fire sale down the line. In most cases they have received a very decent fee and and they are to an extent continuing their education while Chelsea wait and see if they are worth a place in the squad!
