What's in our best interests tonight? An Everton win would keep Newcastle away from us and them still in 17th but I can't help but slightly wish for an Everton loss, as that would keep them in schtuck and Newcastle would still remain below us due to GD. The thought of them being relegated is actually becoming a prospect and the longer they stay there the more I am filled with a giddy schoolboy excitement at the possibility! Usually when teams below us play one another I hope for a 0-0 draw but I'm not so sure on this one
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Think I prefer a Newcastle win so that Everton’s confidence isn’t high when they come to Selhurst. If not a draw will do for me?

Palace first always. I understand our slightly spiteful wish to see Everton go down. But really I can think of other usual suspects I would prefer to do the drop. Everton ain't that bad in my estimation. So that really means Newcastle losing or drawing helps our cause for a top ten finish.

A draw. With red card for Richarlison and injuries to Gordon and Allan

I think that if we're looking ahead to Sunday's game, the best result tonight would be a Newcastle victory. Everton really do look like a demoralised side and another loss tonight will deflate their morale even further. Also, Lampard will be more interested in keeping them in the Prem than progressing in the Cup so he will find it even harder to lift them on Sunday if they lose again tonight. On recent form, Newcastle are favourites.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I don't think it really matters from a league perspective. Newcastle have turned the tide, and will stay up with ease. Everton are in big trouble and their confidence is shot, v unlikely that they would catch us. Regardless of the result a few Everton injuries would be nice!

This must be the priority for Everton. I think they will beat Newcastle. If they don't it will be looking serious, a cup run will not help matters. They still have a good squad, even with Andros in it.

maybe with a couple of select injuries to Holgate and Keane to disrupt their defence.

I think their defence is currently doing a very good job at disrupting their defence! Kudos to Benitez and Lampard for their efforts there though!
