Would you swap Mitchell for AWB, i know i wouldn't Mitchell is turning in to an exceptional player, (i know they play on the other side)
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

AWB is a RIGHT-back, Tyrick is a LEFT-back. Nonsensical post.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I recall Steve Parish discussing the transfer of AWB and describing how reluctant he was to sell a jewel of the academy, but he was persuaded by Freedman and Hodgson. Mitchell has certainly exceeded expectations this season. Ideally I’d like both, but on current form I’d take Mitchell over AWB.

Unless he thought we was going to get the money to spend. At the time of sale AWB was immense, you never worried when an oppo was attacking down that side as he never got beaten. I'm starting to feel the same way about TM. I still think AWB is great, just operating in a team where everyone is failing. So hard to judge him based on that.

Loved AWB, I hope that is noted, and I wish him all the best for the future. However, he does have his limits and the timing of his 'revelation' seemed to exaggerated through the circumstances. AWB came in whilst we were still in a siege mentality, relegation battling state. Not many fans were too familiar with him and lo and behold out of nowhere we had this kid at RB who could do a brilliant job in the capacity of nullifying left wing threats. Leggy, decent pace, half decent composure and a nuisance for attacking players. Right place, right time, right club. Since moving to Manure he has had more expectation put on him by a team who's main intent is to dominate and win games. He is not a flying wing-back and looks well out of his depth past the half way line unfortunately. for near £50mil, or whatever it was, it was worth selling IMHO. Mitchell looks a more complete player. I think he has more pace then most realise, solid defender, good awareness, doesn't overestimate himself in attack but gets forward, looks composed on the ball. Others may well disagree be he does look a bit like an Ashley Cole: Mark II. Much as he was a failure as a human being, with an intellect lower than his boots, he was a very good LB and Mitchell looks certainly in that mould with possibly more to come.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

In these modern times, a great deal more is required of full-backs not least to be an attacking threat and as you mentioned this is not a strength of AWB.

AWB is rubbish if I was Man United I would sell him back to Palace at a knock down price. I would love to see him and Mitchell as our fullbacks. PS Mitchell has a chance of a call up as 3 first choice England fullbacks are injured. C'mon Southgate.

Not quite sure how you can pass comment on Mitchells as a failure as a human being with a low intellect. Those comments are more relevant to AWB with his well documented court case and how playing for Utd and the money has gone to his head. They can keep AWB, bit like Bolasie, could never reproduce the same form, once they got a big money move.

Ashley Cole painter, Ashley Cole Mitchel seems very a likeable, decent young man to me, but no I can't pass comment on him.

Solskyaer's plan at Utd was apparently to play AWB on the right of a back three and buy Trippier to play wing back.
