Showing my youth here but I was thinking about some of the lesser mentioned Palace players within the context of 'Palace Greats' conversations and wondered if anybody would care to share their heroes past and possibly present. The likes of Wilf, AJ, Cannon, Byrne, Hopkin, Wright, Lombardo etc etc get frequently mentioned however I'd very much like to hear of more personal heroes over the generations! As an example, some of mine were:
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

When all the kids in the play ground at school or down the park wanted to be Kevin Keegan or Kenny Dalglish, I wanted to be Barry Silkman great hair, Cool name and a good tricky little player, what’s not to like? Peter Taylor had left, so Silks was next in line for the young monkey hero worship Also a mention for Clint Hill definitely up there as one of my recent palace history hero’s. Hard as nails, gave his all and with a cool name like Clint, he was always going to be hard to dislike anyway
