With everything happening at Chelski, is this the best chance we will get to sign Connor?

No, the worst, our chances went from slim to none, They will keep all there lower paid players, out the big wages earners and find a buyer, even if he did leave there would be at least ten teams that could out bid us on wages and fee, i would be more concerned about keeping Olise.

Chelsea have 26 players on more money than Gallagher's 17k a week

At least they have 5 players who get 772k a week in total, who's contract runs out at the end of the season, their wages are ridiculous for average players

Have a think about what Conor wants himself...does he wants to stay at Chelsea...Frankly I don’t think I’d want to be there....he enjoys it at Palace....

THat's the only arrow in our quiver I'm afraid. But, just to be more optimistic, if he were looking to join any exodus, he'd be in London still, at a club he knows, where he would undoubtedly get regular football, under a PL legend midfielder as manager, the fans love him, not so likely to go down and he's familiar with. We can still dream! Can't see it personally however my prophecies are dreadful to be kind.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

unless a takeover is allowed Chelsea are unable to sell any players. Those out of contract will leave this summer - there might be the odd rated youngster who is forced to leave who we could go for? As there wage bill will soon be a massive issue without income another loan for Gallagher might be a possibility. However, surely no club/business can survive without being allowed to generate any income. The current situation needs to be resolved ASAP. Without RAs money to bail them out (£1.5bn over the last 17 years) they have been operating unsustainably for years

Maybe he will go for another season here while the Chelsea puzzle unravels. Its going to be turbulent times there for a good while yet. probably be able to focus more on his game here. Then if the fog clears and there is a strong club he can go back a season on and if not well he can make a decision then.

Another issue for Conor, is the World Cup, if he wants to be in contention, he needs regular game time, especially from August to November, at Palace he will get it, whilst back at Chelsea it’s not so certain, without regular game time Southgate has often said it is more difficult to pick someone for his World Cup squad, I think there is a better than even chance his loan will be extended with us until Jan 23

Newcastle's Megabucks in the summer could cause an issue here. When you think about it, Gallagher is young, English and one of maybe the top 5 central midfielders in the Premier League. He has goals and the odd assist, is tough and hard-working. That's a 50 mil plus player. How much was Pogba for example? Gallagher might not be far off. Maybe a 75 mil player - unless times totally change! Out of our price range. I guess a structured deal from us maybe but I think we're just going to have to say thanks and wish him well next season. We would all love him here obviously, just feel we are being a bit unrealistic in thinking we're buying him.
