I was reminded recently of an ex-West Ham player called Andy Impey whose transfer to Leicester was temporarily cattled because he had a hammer-toe. Whether or not he also suffered from hammeroids is not recorded.
I got to thinking of other apt injuries like a Palace player with eagle-eyes, or a Brentford or Barnet player with bees-knees. Baggy-skin could be a problem for a WBA player, a Sheffield United man could suffer from blade-bones, whilst someone at Everton with sinus trouble might have a toffee-nose.
An unfortunate Arsenal player might pick up gunner-ear, an Orient player might suffer with an O-ring and a Northampton player could have cobblers-nails or possibly cobblers-itch.
