Great player and would love us to sign him but does seem to have gone off the boil since he was ill. Is working as hard as ever but seems a yard off the pace and whereas earlier in the season you couldn’t help but notice him, he does go missing a bit more and have far less influence on games.

TBH….don’t think he could have kept up the ‘star man’ performances. Things are now levelling off for him. You never know, it could work in our favour come the end of the season. Still a great player and adds creativity to the team..

Has certainly gone off the boil.

He is still putting himself about so not sure what the issue is.

I'd hope someone would point out the difference between Palace and Chelsea - we'll let him work through the bad patch, they would have him out of the game and might not get another crack for months.

Players around him need to step up to the plate and achieve the level he has made at the club. He has offered a glimpse of what it takes to improve across the board, and what the others are lacking.

Completely agree. Still working hard but doesn’t seem to be having as big an impact on the game and quite often a second too late to the ball whereas earlier in the season was nicking it every time.

I think the dip in form is because he's been played deeper than before or we've been pushed further back ? I dont think im that clever to work out which one applies.

Some of his best displays have been when Kouyate played as his defensive responsibilities are reduced. Think Kouyate returning (hopefully with a buzz from the Afcon--- not malaria) will see his performances improve.

Sad thing is, Chelsea is his boyhood club and he is almost certainly going to opt to take his chances there. All very glamourous, but he will be on the bench at best, playing Carabao Cup and meaningless ties against the little sides in the Champions League qualifiers. He will lose a season, possibly two before moving on to fresh pastures. More Loftus Cheek and Danny Drinkwater, than Ngolo Kante or Jorginho.

Come to Palace with a Chelsea buy back clause, play every game, be loved by the fans, and if you really hit the jackpot, go back to Chelsea with a couple of successful years under your belt and an England place, and walk straight in to the starting eleven.

Here's hoping.

Great to see others rating Kouyate. Jimmy Mac Gallagher Kouyate and we’ll be back on fire unless Gallagher got the covid? Could be why he lost his razor edge.

He reminds me of Wilf, in that he's huge for us, but wouldn't start at a big club. He has some holes in his game that he makes up for with non-stop effort. His passing isn't up to the level of a starting midfielder at a big 6 club.

Most teams that Chelsea plays sit back and Chelsea has to try to break them down. I doubt that suits Gallagher's game. He belongs being a key player at a mid-table club, rather than bench filler at a top club.
