" Because Queen Elizabeth II, at 95, is now something far more than the longest-reigning and longest-living monarch in our nation’s history." (The Sun)

I'm not a Royalist. I would rather not have anyone on the Civil List. However, her reign is a commendable effort, in spite of a few dodgy moments. She has always seemed, in spite of her privileges, to have something of a grasp on reality.

Maybe worth celebrating with a cup of tea, because she really is the pick of some quite unsavoury family members.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Realistically it's hard to fault her service. And it's not like she's had the easiest year or two to contend with. When she's gone, we'll realise what she meant to us.

One of the images from the last two years which will stay with me is of the Queen sitting on her own at Prince Phillips funeral. Even though she was offered a special dispensation and told the rules were changing anyway in a matter of weeks she refused because it wouldn’t be setting the right example.
She is a remarkable woman and we’ve been lucky to have her for so long. Not so fortunate with most of her family though.

My feelings as well, I would prefer to have a President however I love the woman which doesn't make sense as I have never met her, she is the embodiment of our nation.

On coronation day she swore to serve this country and by god she has.

After she has gone there needs to be a major shake up, not abolition the country doesn't want that and unlike Remoaners I recognise the will of the majority. However the new royal family should be the King Queen and the heir everybody else it's time to retire of get a proper job.

She's from a generation of people the like of whom we will never experience again. God Bless her and all of them.

if you met our leftie parasitic leprechaun in Ireland, you may change your opinion.

I love that hardline Unionists in Ulster will Follow Queen Elizabeth anywhere in the World except for her peacemaking mission to Dublin.

She is their figurehead, but only 98% of the time.

Happy Jubilee Ma'am

Yup I recognise that is the difficulty, we could end up with President Blair or President Boaty MacBoatface.

To our current serving forces personnel & all us vets, she simply is 'The BOSS'. We all pledged an allegiance to her which we still uphold. God bless her & god help us when she finally goes.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Will you vow allegiance to the Cavalier King Charles III ? the new head of the Church of England.

the same Church that solemnises marriage vows.

Well considering the proportion of Brits that a) get married young & b) stay married for life.... is truly down in the statistical sh1tter.

maybe Charles is modern and has moved with the times. He truly reflects modern British society. And Lizzie reflected her generation.

Imagine only starting the main Role in your life after age 73 ?

A great reign, Elizabeth has represented our country with great dignity and has served us all well above the call of duty, an exceptional monarch
