OK, this quantum computing malarkey is very scary. Regret to say cryst that 1984 doesn't get anywhere near it.

I don't pretend to understand it, but in simple terms these things can solve problems that would take years to solve on a conventional computer.

The machines are taking over.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Thankfully, wikipedia has a simplified explanation as to what it's all about.
