Palace are subsidising the Pools' official coach travel for the match, and they are due to bring 4700 down to South London. Edited by nhp61 (19 Jan 2022 12.33pm)

I see their ground is now called the 'Suit Direct Stadium'. I don't suppose many supporters liked the change from the original Victoria Ground. Still referred to as The Vic apparently. Hope we never lose Selhurst Park. Or, at least if we do it doesn't just become a means of marketing a commercial enterprise.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It's showing as sold out due to the 4,700 Hartlepool supporters occupying the whole of the Arthur Waite stand.

The Hartlepool supporters are looking forward to playing a PL side and have hopes of an upset and we, being Palace, have a long history of obliging. Anyone remember Bridgewater Town ? Whatever happens I hope they enjoy their visit .. they will be familiar with a stadium that has known better days.

Apparently tickets in X, Y & Z were on sale earlier today but I think sales have been suspended until we know how many Hartlepool are bringing. If it's only 2000 then I think more will go on sale.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I remember Palace losing to Hartlepool back in Coppell's time; from memory, it might have been the season that relegation happened!

We did actually beat them in Round 2 in 1961 before going on to lose away to Villa in a cracker of a game 4-3. Two years later though, we were dumped out 3-1 at Yeovil giving them yet another league club scalp. It was the year in between that still gives me nightmares though. In round 2 we were drawn at home to Mansfield, who were in the division below us. It took a last kick of the game for us to equalise 2-2 and head for a reply at Field Mill. When I turned on the radio for the score, I discovered we had lost 7-2. Strange you should mention Bridgwater because the Palace Women lost to Bridgwater United Women in their FA Cup match in December and oddly enough, until this season they were known as Yeovil Town Women, but changed following a merger of Yeovil United and Bridgwater Town.

Jeez I went and bought a couple in Lower Homesdale forgetting I will have to stand up all game. Maybe they will swap them with the Arthur.
