I was wondering what happened to Connor.
Today is decision day for Preston North End!

Don't know how to do a link, so just copied!

Roy hinted that Connor wasn't prepared to play through the pain barrier, much like Daniel Sturridge. The talent isn't in doubt but top athletes always have niggles.

I know that Connor had some serious injuries that's not the issue it's when he comes back from then that is. It seems he was not prepared to push himself. Of course this is an opinion and no doubt he would disagree but I can see why Roy lost faith in him.

I also heard this from a Palace source. He was very frustrating for the physios and wouldn’t put in the work.

There is no way they will offer him another contract. They gambled on a sick note, and he managed about half an hour of football before his body gave up.

If the guy has any sense, he'll cash in his insurance cheque and stop pretending he is a footballer

A real shame, because on his day he was a real handful. The VAR related goal he scored at Norwich will live long in the memory because we were in line with it and had written it off as offside so it was a great celebration when it was given

Very, very unlucky and a tragic story really. I watches some games from a few seasons ago on You Tube and CW was a good player, winning balls, lay offs and a troublesome presence to defenders in the box.

Roy actually said a few years back that Wickham's problem was that he tried to come back too soon from injury. The fact the club gave him a new deal despite his injuries suggests to me he was a positive person to have around even if he was injury prone. If he wasn't committed I can't believe the club would have been so supportive.

Unfortunately some people are just not built for the rigors of professional football and I fear he may be forced into early retirement. It's hard to feel that sorry for him though when you consider he is a millionaire with a stunning wife.

I thought the wife had gone?
