He's officially the world's richest man with $275 billion to spend. It's difficult to imagine what that much money looks like, especially to someone like me who hangs on to his Christmas decorations every year! No wonder he wants to blow some of it getting to the Moon or wherever. What would you buy if you had $275 billion burning a hole in your pocket?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

its difficult to imagine that much money in any context - I have often said that if I was independently wealthy (which I am not unless next weeks lottery numbers come up) I would spend my time ( however many years I have left) at major sporting events around the world

Surely all of us would plough a few $billion into CPFC, so we can say "yah, boo sucks" to the "big six" plus Newcastle. Except: 1) the rules on PL club funding would no doubt conveniently be changed just in time to prevent us from doing so; and

I would buy the house next door to any woke celebrity that annoyed me e.g. Lilly Allen or Emma Thompson or people like Diane Abbott et al. Money no object I am sure I could get the neighbour to sell. Then I would offer it to the government as an Asylum Seekers hostel / travellers site or for the homeless. Let's see how the woke react to having those people they claim to care for live next door to them. On a more serious note if I had that money I would commission a massive house building / regeneration plan for the UK renting the homes out at a proper affordable rent. I would also chuck money at medical research. I would keep about £20m for myself for travel and the like. Edited by Badger11 (07 Jan 2022 3.16pm)

Yeah, the power of Musk! Did make me chuckle. Oh and yeah, a billion or two of those hundreds of billions to Parish to build us a world class stadium and buy a prima donna or four.
