Auntie surpassed by ITV News.

An ITV News reader has accidentally announced the death of The Pope on Christmas Day in an almighty live television blunder.

I love it - has made my Xmas.

They must've thought Arch-Bishop Desmond Tutu was the Pope, wrong religion, but . . .

R.I.P.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

ideologically the Vatican died with the arrival of Francis.

The Vatican twinned with the BBC.

Ain't that the truth.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

This Pope is certainly doing his best to kill Catholicism.

Really - the Pope who has devoted his entire life to it's cause? Certainly across Europe its in decline but there has been a big surge of numbers in Africa and SEA. Personally, I wouldn't write it off, even in Europe - its at the heart of so much of society.

This Pope doesn't seem that much of a Catholic to me.

The Catholic church in Africa certainly seems far more traditionally Catholic than his version that's for sure and its success was well underway before he came along.

To my mind only those Catholics who want Catholicism to change would defend this Pope....To which I would question what's the point of them being Catholics in the first place....might as well be Protestants.

a comment i read elsewhere, that i would echo.

''this fella Francis seems to be at such a massive variance with traditional Catholic thinking, is he being blackmailed ? what do 'they' have on him''

they = the shady elite powers that be.

His body language looks like a man who is not at ease with his words/actions.
