I pray for some real justice in all of this to as many guilty parties as possible... unfortunately I think my hopes are misplaced.

Trump has been good friends with the Clintons for a long time, Bill was one of the first to encourage him to run, albeit he underestimated Trump's ability to fool American voters... and how much they hated his wife.

I have a problem with these historical sex abuse cases, purely from the evidential front, that they seem to really almost wholly on testimony. Very much like the Rolf Harris case, for example.

Maxwell, no doubt still has very powerful associates (Clinton, Prince Andrew. Trump) who may have significant influence on not having their image tarnished.

One particular friend of mine in the 1970's had a very rich dad, when we were at school. He regularly picked up his daughter (or his driver did) in his Rolls Royce and some of her friends from school to take back to his large house for dinner and to play. All very lovely. But in todays world, maybe it's not a sensible thing to do.

We'll have to see how this pans out, but the initial defence of "it wasn't me, it was the dead man", seems to acknowledge that things did happen, and is not a good starting point.

I disengage, I turn the page.

It's a show trial. You can already see the power dynamics at play given the reasons why it is not being televised.

The outcome is a foregone concluision because the system needs a sacrifice. She will get a custodial sentence that will then be quietly reduced on some kind of 'compassionate' grounds. Probably an illness of some kind and then she is released and fades away into the background.

Issue is always around Epsteins 'suicide'.

It's a federal court though.

Which probably makes it even more likely a deal has been done. She can embarrass a lot of powerful people. Just think about the s*** that has already come out and then wonder about how much more there is still buried away?

Following the farce that was Epstein's supposed suicide, then they need a trial and somebody to take the fall. But this notion that she is going to serve any kind of meaningful sentence just ain't going to happen.

She was at the heart of it all. She knows the grubby secrets. But she must also be scared herself given what happened to her old pal Jeff.

There will be a conviction, a jail term imposed and then within 12 months she will be effectively released.

Just making the point that federal courts aren't televised.

I can't see any shocking revelations about any big guns being outed.

I think the views expressed here are likely to be how it pans out.

I don't think there will be anything ground breaking in the case that we didn't already know but I think the seedy grossness of Epstein and his associates will be laid bare throughout the trial.

Her recount of meeting Trump at Mar-a-Lago just shows Epstein wasn't scared of taking his victims to Trump.

Trump was well aware of what Epstein was up to... never forget his quote to New York magazine -

“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.”

“He’s a lot of fun to be with,”

“It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

With these historic cases you can't definitely say who's guilty of what... but at the very least Trump was willingly meeting Epstein while he was on grooming trips. I don't understand why any good man would do that.

Good points.

We need the beef...there must be ways of identifying where these famous people were on specific dates.
