Gotta play Wilf he will have Matt Target on toast! Suspect this is right. The Villa strategy against Brighton was to force play wide and allow possession there. Do anything like that against us with Olise and Zaha on the pitch and we could be well in.

Anyone thinking dropping Wilf is a good idea is nuts. His ego is as crucial to this team as his skills and his relationship with Mitchell has improved this season. The fact that Ayew, Olise, Eduaord and Schlupp (and Eze) are battling it out for that last spot on the right is an amazing situation we haven't been in before.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

Quite right... PV thinks too much of Wilf to drop him... he’s the first name on the team sheet... what’s all this anti Wilf nonsense anyway...😳If that shot had gone in on Saturday instead of hitting the bar everyone would have been screaming amazing...

Villa worry me. I think they are in a false position through injuries and they now have some of their better plays back and there or thereabouts fitness wise. They have Watkins and Bailey who are both rapid and if Watkins lines up on the left of a 3, I can see him causing real problems for Ward and Andersen. I can see them both picking up bookings early on if he makes runs in the channel between them. If we are going to stick to our higher line against this lot, we need to make sure we dominate the midfield and have a solution to the lack of JMac. Can't line up with Luka and Kouyate again, need Schlupp or Hughes in but I have no idea about their fitness and match sharpness. I think we'd do well with Edouard or Olise as the 3rd forward with Benteke and Zaha but I suspect that we might see Ayew for his workrate and ability to help Ward defensively.
