Very worrying. With China you have to worry if she'll ever again see the light of day, or even if she's alive.

Hopefully enough pressure can be applied to eventually at least get some answers. If she ever again has the opportunity to leave the country (big if now), after this incident I doubt she'd be in a rush to return.

If I was here I'd possibly do that if I had to, then get out at the first opportunity. Then again there is a culture of shame and fear at criticising the Chinese government or speaking up in general, so maybe Stockholm Syndrome will kick in.

. Yes it's scary that her honesty is likely to have endangered both her and her loved ones. Unnerving how easily those in power can 'put people in their place'.
