‘Nothing is impossible’: Lewis Hamilton revels in stunning Brazil F1 victory. Commentators such as Damon Hill ex-world champ himself, are describing it as the greatest F1 drive ever. The Brazilian F1 fans latching on to Hamilton as the new Senna. Not what the F1 officials were hoping for, with their dodgy technical penalties, ignoring him being driven off the road, fining his opponent instead of penalising him, they tried to bury Hamilton but failed. Good on 'yer Lewis, Sao Paulo will live in the memory.

100% agree. The FIA even fined him £5,000 after the race because he had loosened his seat belt before he had parked up in 'parc ferme' No driver has won from more than 8th in 'Interlagos' & considering he had to make up overall 25 places, thats one hell of a weekend for him, even Massa was saying he was 'Driver of the Weekend' let alone the Day.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Very over rated. He walked into teams which had top cars he has not done anything to build teams or even had to wrestle cars to wins this is something the true great drivers did. Is he talented yes. This last race he had the best car by miles also all new parts nothign special was done. I have met him 5 times all through different stages of his career. He deserved his fines and punishment the rules are very clear.

When he started at McLaren he had been on their young driver program for 9 years prior and he was partnered with Alonso - the current and double World Champion. They both won 4 races and he finished above Alonso in 2nd place. Alonso finished 3rd. In his first season, aged 22 in equal equipment - I doubt that the team favoured him over the reigning World Champ. Edited by Helmet46 (15 Nov 2021 8.18pm)

He's a brilliant, talented and highly polished driver of F1 cars. No question. What grates on a lot of folk, me included I'm afraid, is that he has an unfortunate manner and attitude which makes him appear arrogant, insincere and, as a consequence, unpopular.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It takes time to get used to a new team LH had already been apart of the setup and driven the car in testing Alonso had not. (lots of reports he didn't get on well with the staff either) That Mercedes team was built to win when he walked into it dont try to change history making out they was some bottom end team it was a plan they had over many years Brawn had even come out and stated that himself with MS help they had put in place everything for the new regulation changes which is why car development had been put on hold until the season LH joined. LH has never won in a poor car because he never had one Rosberg and Button showed him up at times and when he had to compete with Rosberg he threw toys out of the pram threatened to quit. The people like Hill and others are all super chums this is why they do the a** kissing also the people in that circle don't tell it how it really is. People have called him out Mansell and Jackie Stewart told it how it is about him look at them you dont see them around. I didn't like Schumacher when he raced but when you look back at him and hear what he was about etc that was a true legend he had awful cars yet won races, he built teams Mercedes was one of them this is backed up by Ross Brawn even stating this that Mercedes team would not have become what it did without him the guy in that poor car at times got some great results this was when he was far from his prime. Take a look at LH even in that car he is in how many times has he struggled when not at the front (he only over takes people when on the likes of better tires or has is against cars that are not in the same class just like the last race also DRS is his friend) He is on par with Seb look how he is doing since he left Red Bull Edited by grumpymort (15 Nov 2021 10.09pm)

Had he gone to Mercedes without the work done from others Mercedes would not be what it is today LH is not good enough to build teams. He has broken so many records as well because of that car plus look how many more points and races they now have compared to the old days had he been going up against the big names he wouldn't of achieved half of what he has done.

He has broken so many records as well because of that car plus look how many more points and races they now have compared to the old days had he been going up against the big names he wouldn't of achieved half of what he has done. But that’s the problem. He can only race against what’s put in front of him. The number of points is not relevant because, as you say, the increased points and number of races, so those records should be ignored. That can, however, work against you. One could argue that the likes of Mansell (who again had a car streets ahead of anyone else at the time) didn’t have to perform consistently over so many races. But you cannot compare eras. It’s like football - who’s to say whether Pele would be as good as Messi were he a young man now? It’s easy to keep saying ‘it’s the car, it’s the car’ in order to decry someone’s achievements but he has outperformed his team mates pretty much every season. Of those teammates three are former World Champions or are we going to disrespect Rosbergs world title as he had a better car as well?

From what appears in the media apportioned to Hamilton and his dad (and what you hear on the team radio, and interviews), I don't think I would get on with either of them. I can be a c-unit too Edited by Forest Hillbilly (16 Nov 2021 7.10am)

None of the overtaking was anything special it was again watch it all about straight line speed with drs help. I would give the credit if he had performed like that in a car that he managed to over perform but he didnt even Bottas if it wasn't for Mercedes again giving LH the number 1 treatment would of been going for the win (Bottas should of been out of that team years ago anyway he was there to keep LH happy as a number 2)
