With all the talk about replacing Gallagher, my major concern is if PV continues his outstanding transformation the big boys will come along and start waving their wallets at him 2 and a half years left on his contract, Derry seems to be getting involved more during matches, maybe he can be learn from PV for the future if the unthinkable happens

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

A week's a long time in...football (just ask Farke and Smith). Having said that, I don't see Vieira going for the wallet wavers until he feels he's completed the project here. He's building something exciting here and it seems to me that he's the kind of person who will want to take it as far as he can. He is putting his stamp on this team and it's one of which many of us fans approve. I think it would take Arsenal or Citeh to drag him away.

He'll do 2 years with us and then take over at Citeh when Pep retires. He'll be sought out by Arsenal at some point in between but will turn them down. Osian Roberts takes the reins when he goes.

Anything else you want to know, drop us a line. Happy to help.

I think other club legends (Ole and Arteta) getting slated week in week out helps us a little in that respect.

Not saying he won’t want a bigger job, but maybe not quite yet. Just comes with a lot of expectation.

I think that starting on a/the new stadium/stand will be crucial to PV making a decision on where he is in 3 years time.

FFS

Slightest hint of us stringing some results together and you are fretting that the managers off.

Let's enjoy the ride and when we lose 3 in a row all change our tune and start demanding changes!

The fickle world of football.

Agreed, save I still think, like the OP, Derry is being groomed to succeed. He did some magic with the U23 and has been brought in as 1st Team coach to further his learning and import bs skills.

In 2 years I also see Jimmy Mac in the backroom in some capacity.

Yes, Jimmy Mac a good Shout, Any decent Chairman has to look at least two years ahead and have a back up plan should unexpected event happen, don't forget Parish wanted Favre and Nino before PV

We're all guilty of it I know, but you've got to laugh at the lurch this way and that based on the last couple of results . I can't see him going anywhere anytime soon.

not sure about this. PV went through the Man City manager training programme, after spending time in various different departments to get a taste for what they all do. You can't possible recreate that level of learning experience by working alongside someone who did the course.

Either way, if we continue on this trajectory, we will be a much more attractive proposition for other managers. If we're Vieira's ticket to a top European club, others will want to follow that path. There will be no need to rely on mercenary managers or those desperate for a job.
