elect a Jamaican immigrant as Lt.Governor, the progressive Left in the US has completely lost the plot. Whatever we think of the failings of our own elected representatives here, the US is way ahead in absurdity

While racial politics is ever present in both parties, this certainly shows that the Republicans are as keyed into the electorate of any given state as any. The result should be a wake up call to Biden, but he's running on empty.

Biden has blamed Covid, petrol prices and Trump voters. Surprised he didn't blame Brexit and Russia too.

Everything on Biden has gone pretty much as predicted, though his handling of Afghanistan was much worse than many could have thought. Still, no mean tweets. Looking at the stats, it seems that the main change has been blue collar white women reacting against CRT in schools.....still, I'm sure rising inflation isn't helping as it affects blue collar far more than white.

The Democrats are obviously looking at Harris for 2024 as they are keeping her out of pretty much everything in an attempt to avoid collateral reputational damage. They have everything in their favour in control of the media and demographic shifts yet they have no talent to front them.....which is expected when meritocracy isn't the top factor in who rises to leadership.

Outside of them cheating again, Harris does not stand a chance. Her inclusion was all about the optics for 2020 but she makes zero sense for 2024. And even the demographic shift narrative only really plays out for the Democrats in being able to manipulate the vote in certain key counties. African-Americans seem to be waking up to the fact that the Democrats only care about them when it comes to elections and otherwise do nothing for them. The Democrats only have Trump and 'Racism' cards to play. And both failed miserably for them.

If the Democrats do badly in the mid terms perhaps their efforts with voting eligibility and mail votes will suffer as a result. Both of those outcomes would favour the Republicans. While you do get exceptions like the Cubans (though in reality it's still a fifty fifty split) I don't believe that minorities will ever significantly shift from voting left...It's been a call that's been around for fifty years but when you look globally minorities voting left is a universal reality.....as factual a reality as women voting more left than men. If I think about it I honestly don't know if.....from my perspective....the Republicans winning in 2024 would be a good thing. It would stop them changing to represent social conservativism and see them reaching out to independent voters....It would be another four years of Red states becoming gradually bluer with demographic shift with no action to stop it.

The Democrats only have Trump and 'Racism' cards to play. And both failed miserably for them. The Republican party will (out of necessity) become a racially more broad church over time, which will inevitably draw in more votes from various racial demographics, many of whom are not inherently liberal anyway. I don't see them ever being out for the count, especially in a two party system. That said, election results have to be taken on the chin to be learned from. It's not at all a surprise considering the factors at play that the republicans lost the last election (just as it won't be if they win the next). Ideas like Russia-gate and the myriad of cobbled together reasons why we shouldn't trust the last election are all largely figments of the imagination based about the inability to accept outcomes we don't personally want. The cobbled together nonsense in both instances used to state a case was and is more coping mechanism than reality based.
