Can't see that we'll approach it in any other way than we have other recent matches in formation. Suspect Ayew may make an appearance wide right as a concession to defence. The goal will likely to be to tie up the middle and force them wider. I guess something like 3-1 to them - optimistically we can squeeze out another 2-2.

The last of the "big 3" that we play until the reverse fixtures - these 3 have been all away. Chelsea was abysmal - but our first game and played with almost no new talent - 2-0 Liverpool we gave them a good game, but their talent was too much - 3-0 Man City - I think we'll also give them a run. We've been a little bit of a bogey team for them in recent years. 1-2, CPFC win!

We are due some luck and could get an unexpected draw instead of the tanking most people will be predicting.

Sad to say I really can't see us getting anything from this one. It's true we have given City a few frights in the past, but judging from their recent form it'll be their turn to frighten us. If I had the room I'd watch from behind the sofa. If we score at all it'll be a result. If we manage to keep the deficit to less than two goals it'll feel like a victory. If we win it may even prompt Willo to post a comment.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
