I confess that I don't know much about this as I pretty much stopped taking a detailed interest in cricket when it disappeared from terrestrial TV. Anyway, can anyone "in the know" explain why the draw appears to be so biased? Group 1 consists of 6 leading cricketing nations (Bangladesh is perhaps "debatable" ) whereas Group 2 boasts Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan alongside India, pakistan and New Zealand. With only 2 teams progressing from each group, those in Group 1 will have their work cut out. Edited by YT (24 Oct 2021 9.05am)

There were some that already qualified through world ranking. The others played a qualifying group last week. The bottom two of each group you listed, qualified through that.

A competition to find out who is the worst side at batting in the world. 'My granny with a stick of rhubarb could play better' - Boycott.

I would like to amend my comments about the batting? pakistan just smashed India 152-0, first time ever in a World Cup.

What's the 'first' here? First 10-wicket win? First pakistan win over India? (etc). Cheers.

pakistan are often a tough proposition. There are two pakistan teams. One is a world beater and the other plays like amateurs. It looks like it might be the former turning up at this World Cup
