To play a midfield including Zaha Gallagher Eze Olise Mouthwatering IMO when all fit and firing but would we have too much flair???

Assuming that Zaha and Olise paly as wide forwards and we continue to play 433, then we could definitely see a midfield of Eze, Connor + Luka/Macca

But I would think that Gallagher would have to stop getting forward quite as much which isn't how Vieira seeems to want to use him.

Just have Luka as a holding midfielder behind them. We seem to be playing possession based football now (60% vs Leicester), so certainly against the 'lesser' teams, we should put more empathise on creating chances with the likes of those mentioned on the pitch. Against the big boys, we'll have less ball so one of those should probably sit out and be replaced by Jimmy Mac.

Agree with Jmac being DM alternating with Luka as n when necessary. Still, think come Dec/xmas when Eze is fully fit & playing, we might get to see various different players rotating, not been able to do that for a long while.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

And they’re great options from the bench being within touching distance of getting a point or 2 more rather than being dead and buried. Vieira seems to be great at subs, and they’re scoring as well.

If Eze is a better attacker than CG then why not. At City, whenever De Bruyne is out, Gundogan plays further forward and looks really good, but then when De Bruyne is back, Gundogan plays further back. Edited by MrRobbo (05 Oct 2021 5.59pm)

It's a long season and they will not all be fully fit and on top form all the time. Good to have competition in the squad and an ability to change the tactics for different opposition and different scenarios. A constant headache for opposition managers. It's a squad game now. I like the way Eddie Jones refers to his team as the starters and finishers.

After the last 4 years I don't think it's possible to ever see our strongest starting 11 playing together, I'll expect viera to carry on the tradition and see us play a front 3 of zaha ayew and olise next game.
