Can anyone tell me why sky are not offering live coverage of all games? OK I got a season ticket, but they could charge say £10 per game and make many people happy. It’s hard to get tickets for away games even though I love them.

I believe the football authorities / government restrict access to protect the supporters (if you believe that).

However sooner or later I agree every PL game will be televised.

Thanks Badg. Let’s hope so. In the meantime I got to get fuel for tomorrow!

I'm surprised it hasn't happened already to be honest. I get the arguments against, but still.

They are all televised in the USA if you fancy an illegal stream.
To be honest, there's probably too much football on TV at the moment and the markets being saturated. Especially with the way Sky overhype every game.

Having said that, it would be nice for a championship game to be shown on terrestrial TV again on a Sunday lunch time. That would help people gain an interest in going to see their local clubs.

In my case that would be Chelsea.

Its due to UEFA restrictions on televised games in the UK kicking off between 14.30 - 17.15 due to Media stakeholders. If i can find the (long) official reason i'll post it(if you want).

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I don't get why games aren't available internationally on a legal subscription basis via the web, especially when all games are broadcast by US tv? I would happily pay a sensible amount to watch a legal stream here in France where I now live rather than an unreliable and constantly interrupted dodgy stream.

I do understand that locally this would impact attendances but outside of the local area surely this would be a bigger income generator rather than Sky choosing individual games to hype up?

Televising every game live is often cited as one of the key reasons the Italian league fell from grace so spectacularly and apparently irreversibly. Half empty stadiums became the norm thereafter, leading to reduced interest in the spectacle from advertisers and then, ironically, TV companies.

There were other issues too, but I'd doubt even the Premier league would want to test its luck by giving punters the choice between going to the game for a fortune or watching it on telly for the price of a couple of pints.

I suspect the big six couldn't care less about the fans at the game that is just the cherry on top. I think they are more interested in the global brand than the real fans "Singapore's finest".

Every PL game is televised. Just not shown live in this country. The reason the PL is so lucrative is the TV rights are sold globally and every game is shown live somewhere. Illegal streams can be found but be careful! ... u sometimes have to close pop-up ads and be careful not to click on any notices claiming your computer is infected.
