Thank you for all your pronouncements. Just to be clear, if you voted Conservative you are racist, misogynistic, homophobic scum. That is the sort of honest opinion that will help reverse the red wall results. Ed Miliband is on now, presumably giving a summary of how to avoid inheritance tax by using a deed of variation. Am hoping there will be a brawl at the conference, women with p****es vs women without Rosie Duffield will not be there to see it
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Her statement sums up Labour's problem nicely. She might think it but why say it? She is pandering to a section of the Labour party who no doubt lapped it up. However whilst this will go down a storm in Corbyn World the average voter who Labour needs to get elected will just think it a crass comment unworthy of a politician with aspirations to lead the party. It's student union speech. So Starmer has feet of clay and lacks vision, despite his 11000 word essay, the alternative is Raynor who will be loved by the die hard activists but will not appeal to the voters outside the London bubble.

You are not at all clear. You are confused. Without wishing to defend the use of injudicious language, if you decide to attack it, then it would be better to do so accurately. She did NOT describe those who voted Conservative that way. She was describing Tory Ministers, using robust terms. Terms and sentiments that may well resonate with those "red wall" voters now having second thoughts, as the implications of their actions sink in. So at least you are right with the probable consequences.

It's how the majority of Labour's membership base see things so it is at least a fair reflection of the party....if not perhaps most who vote for it. My uncle had voted Labour all his life stopped voting Labour over Brexit....It was painful for him and I don't see the Rayner types winning him back. The problem with Labour is that being an activist party means you turn off the independent voters. Personally, while being completely anti woke I admire their honesty. I actually do want parties that reflect their memberships rather than leaderships that disappoint them. It isn't a roadmap to winning elections though as essentially the public want what the media tell them to want. Starmer wants to do the Blair thing and taylor fit his party to the corporate media's desires, like Johnson has done.....and as you'd expect his party aren't too happy about it....just as the Tory base aren't happy with Johnson....hell even his own MPs aren't.

Funny you see it this way because surveys say Labour are well behind the tories with voting intentions, and that’s probably after fixing the surveys.

'Just to be clear, if you voted Conservative you are racist, misogynistic, homophobic scum'. Rayner did not say that, she was attacking Johnsons govt. and made this clear.

Johnson’s government only exists because a sufficient number of the electorate voted to put it there. So, by simple association, yes she is saying exactly that.

And what will the Tory spin machine do with that? What will right wing media do with that? YOU people vote for? An implication is present. Its free ammunition. As a Labour voter the leader should have condemned her remarks publicly. Edited by Pembroke (26 Sep 2021 1.32pm)

Labour have a very long road to travel, so that's much more to do with Corbyn's legacy than satisfaction with the Tories. The Tories could be led by a complete idiot and not yet be under threat, so Johnson is safe for now, as, although he is a long way from being competent, he isn't a complete idiot. Which is a very sad reflection on the state of British politics. We so need the formation of a new centre ground party around which the bulk of the British population could begin to build a consensus.
