It seems, and not for the first time, our great leader Borisbungle , has been a tad optomistic about our "special relationship"with the largest economy in the world! He went looking for a deal, and came out with a sting in his ear that in no way must he touch the Northern Ireland peace agreement! As this was one of Bojos top targets after brexit-he banged on about it enough, and is not happening, and our nearest neighbours are now not our friends, where on earth do we go now? The American on the news said we never discuss gb as a trade partner, gb only comes up when we are discussing N Ireland, somebody should have told Boris! The "special relationship ", is just something we cling on to, like the cool kids at school, you might consider them your mates but do they actually consider you? .I( was cool, btw). Food prices UP, fuel prices UP, (We were warned about fuel prices over a year ago boris}. council tax UP,inflation UP.zero hours contracts jobs galore UP. food shortages UP.With the current state of this government, reactionary, mopping up after the flood, rather than getting the member for Medway in the attic to fix it, it"s going to be a long winter for many old people, eat or heat?

As a Republican Congressman put it: "About 30% of US trade is with Canada & Mexico. China accounts for another 13%. As for the UK, it is 2.5%, the same as Taiwan, Vietnam & India. So when some are confused why a trade deal with the UK isn't a high priority, now you know" Another Brexit fantasy goes pop.

Seems a tad off for the guy with 'any European country I fancy' to continually use the 'we' word.....seems a bit cake and eat it isn't it. If you have little allegiance then why the hell would this interest you so much. Also, I have to say that Biden is the president that all the left wanted. With Trump we had a pro trade deal president. Now the left have the low powered disaster of a president that they preferred. A president who is pretty much set against Britain and thinks he can meddle in our affairs plus isn't fond of a trade deal. Then to find that the blame for not getting a trade deal is suddenly ours? Talk about twisting reality. The mess is entirely inline with their wishes.....you can't then lay the blame on those who wouldn't have put Biden in charge of a pub fight let alone the west.

So when some are confused why a trade deal with the UK isn't a high priority, now you know" Another Brexit fantasy goes pop. That's just hard bargain talk. Trade deals are a lot more than just fiscal exchanges. They are soft power and common sense. Also the size of the trade matters less than other factors. Taiwan is a case in point.....Like your computer do you? Pretty much all the cpus come from Taiwan, most chip production is there.....that trade deal is ever so slightly important. Trade with China could go belly up any month. I could write pages on why relying on China is high risk. India, like China is a country with over a billion people, however unlike the CCP it doesn't regard the west as an enemy. As for the UK, we founded America and the historical connections and the allied interconnection of our military and intelligence services can't be dismissed as if they don't exist like some do. While I would agree that with the left/Democrats in charge of the US a trade deal isn't a priority.....the simple truth is that if Trump were there the language and a deal would be far more realistic.....the guy said it himself.

This is a huge stretch - you speak as if 'the left' are some multi-national organisation with agreed aims and wishes. When we were being told how great Brexit would be for trade, no one caveated that to say it was dependent on a particular President staying in power, nor does anyone here have any impact to influence which President would be elected, so to suggest any blame lies with left-leaning UK citizens is frankly a nonsense.

The Northern Ireland protocol is detrimental to the whole of Ireland. No matter how much bull our government talks, it's clear who our bosses are. Any trouble with the Unionists also affects us all. I would rather have had no deal than the Northern Ireland protocol. Literally no one in Ireland wants the North either - except in drunken songs. If the EU cared about actual people, they would cancel the stupid protocol. Biden and the Yanks don't have a clue - they're just looking for votes from plastics called Erin and the like. More hilariously so as these are the very people who voted Trump as they don't like immigration. The Dems trying to bring them back with their 'Kiss me I'm Irish' hats.
