Wow! This 18 yr old tennis player from Bromley got a few mentions in the Wimbledon thread earlier this year. Now she has just played wonderful tennis to beat Bencic in the US Open to win a place in the semi-finals. A real future British champion with a lovely personality and terrific temperament. I'm an unashamed fan. Good luck in the Semis Emma.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

If she stays injury free, a future world no 1 I think. Great match to watch tonight beating the Olympic gold winner. So strong, fit and fast - There’s a lot of young women and men coming through at the moment with the old guard about to move aside.

Best of luck to her. I couldn't see it on TV anywhere. It used to always be on when I had no interest at all. Now not on as far as I can tell.

The match, and indeed coverage of all the US Open, is on Amazon Prime AS. There are a few minutes of highlights on YouTube if that's any good to you. I have Prime - will take a look. Didn't see anything about it. Often events are not available in Ireland. I should really cancel it.

Emma's in the final guys,straight sets win over the Greek lady. Incredible win,she play's the Canadian Fernandez in the final. Fernandez is also very good,c'mon Emma,south London girl,one of our own.
