Joel Ward can do a job but I don't think he's the answer. However, Nat Clyne getting rotation with him I'd say is 'good enough' for our objectives this year at right back.

Vieira has made clear for better or worse that the new CB signings are his first choice so with Kelly and Tomkins behind them it looks as if the Manager is well stocked everywhere besides left back.

Great to see another Striker is on the verge of signing and we know we have Hughes for the mdifield with the Chelsea boy and exciting tricky wingers on the way back to help Zaha.

Everything looks complete bar left-back. Mitchell should be getting rotated with someone more experienced. Is there any whisper out there or is this position just not getting strengthened this window?

At this point any journey-man left back for 2-5 million would probably do if they have Prem experience.

WH are apparently in the market for Tagliafico from Ajax for just 10 mill - that would be a blindingly good deal. Tricky to pull off in this window as he may be in South America

Might be worth our looking at him in the winter window if he's still on the market.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Riedewald can do a job there - especially considering he's fallen down the midfield pecking order. I know it's not ideal: I was hoping we would buy a left back - like most other fans. Reminds me of when Souare crashed and we managed to have no left backs. There's always one position wanting for us.

Exactly it would be nice for another LB but we've prioritised the right areas to strengthen.

Jairo or Schlupp, I'd like to think could slot when needed. Jairo did well there last time and even won player of the month

It's easy to forget that. We fans are never satisfied. We want it all.

However, even before this window started most fans, seeing the precipice of expiring contracts, agreed it would take more than one window to sort out our squad.

I, for one, am delighted we've managed to do the business we have and I've always felt that LB would be one of the positions we wouldn't strengthen in this window given our other priority needs. Perhaps we'll look at it in January (if we've got the money).

A choice of a striker or LB, I know what most fans would want and we need more.

If we sign a Left Back, it has to be to start in the XI, and that blocks Mitchell ever making it.

We all complained about Roy not using the academy, we've now got 2 players from the academy at LB (I accept Hannam is more a signing than academy).

If Mitchell can't cut it over the season, fine, albeit worth remembering the last 2 (AWB - £50m to United, Clyne - England) were exceptional talents so Mitchell isn't likely to hit the ground running as fast as they did. He does need to be given the chance.

Ideally I'd like a left back to come in for our success this season, but I can see why the club hasn't given Jairo can play there if required.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

when did Jairo play left back? The only league game i remember was v Brighton a few years a go. Looked nervous, positioning was poor and almost gave away a penalty. Was subbed at half time.

I'd prefer Schlupp if we need a change.
