Two substitute goalkeepers

I don't like seeing two sub goalkeepers on the bench, as its totally unnecessary and a waste of a bench spot. I'm assuming this was in part due to the under 23's being involved in a very tough league game on Friday evening. But then why was Clyne not involved?? Vieira said the first team squad were all available apart from Olise and Eze. Maybe Clyne had to isolate? but nothing has been reported.

I am reliably informed that Liverpool had 2 goalkeepers on the bench in their game against Burnley, Messrs Adrian and Kelleher.

Stick someone down the pecking order on to give a feel of the big day and a sense of inclusion.

Which is exactly what happened. it just happened to be our no. 3 keeper who was given the experience. Perhaps, he'll be the reserve keeper on the bench tomorrow so he's been given a bit of exposure to a big crowd environment.

Not an issue in my book.

Was it not a message to the board about a lack of numbers ??

Without doubt a message to the owner about the lack of depth in our squad and I’d imagine PV would admit that!

It could just be mentioned in the Monday meetings.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

If they seriously want to bolster the squad with bench worthy players then they should consider experienced centre back Nicolas N'Koulou who is currently a free agent, ex Brighton winger Izquierdo, also a free agent and lastly ex Arsenal striker Lucas Perez who is, yes, a free agent. These aren't players who will turn the fortunes of the club but can be used to see out games, play in cup matches and provide sufficient cover for injuries.
