Crystal Palace Pool repairs

Just thought I'd give people a heads up about this. Pool has been out of action for over a year. Not even a left/right divide here - unless someone can invent one. Link to petition:

Read about this recently. Was staggered at what they claimed the cost of repairing a cracked window was. Been swimming there on numerous occasions in my younger years and loved it. In fact, the entire complex is a one-off and like much of the park, criminally underused and rated.

Seen it, but never swam in it. Did my early swimming in the old Scarbrook Road pool and spent many a summer at Purley Way.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Would probably be cheaper to knock it all down and start again. South London could support a world class sports venue. It would be nice if we could get a mayor who's support investment in it.

I used to swim at West Wickham. I suspect the old baths aren't there any more but don't know.

Classic case of 'you don't know what you've missed until it has gone'. Hw many schools SHOULD be using this facility , especially where the Primary Schools are concerned, with all of this Government ringfenced funding for PE and Sport?
