Do any of you older fans recollect the comedy "Mum's Boys from 1968.I can't say I have any memory of it whatsoever. I came across it on a TV nostalgia site. What drew me to it was Irene Handl's character name, Crystal Pallise.

I can tell you that Bernard Bresslaw was a nice bloke and was afraid of snakes.

Yes, by all accounts it was wiped. Apparently Bernard's character was cast in very much the same vein as his "Carry On" persona - slow and not too bright. Presumably his part didn't entail handling wiggling legless reptiles!

Don't remember the show, but love the name. Wonder if the writer/creator was a fan? My Mum got Pete Murray's autograph for me while she was waitressing in Kennards.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It was written by Jimmy Grafton and Jeremy Lloyd. Lloyd was a writer and a very posh speaking actor - he appeared in the Beatles film A Hard Days Night, and was briefly married to Joanna Lumley. I've no idea if either had any affinity to Palace. I suspect it more likely that it was a reference to the famous glass building!
