New ticketing system using mobiles

CPFC have tweeted that after the Brentford game, entry to matches will be by smart phones.
People are already commenting that this will exclude oldies who don't have a smart phone. Also not clear if this means you can no longer share your season ticket among family members.
Anyone know anything more?

Just a guess but I think that they are working towards trying to tie the stadium entry ticket to the nhs covid passport (which you get on the app)
i.e the same name / details on each.

Total confusion. They say first that this is a Premier League "recommendation" - and then that it is a PL "requirement". Well, which is it?
If it's a recommendation, then they can choose whether and how to do it - and so far they are choosing badly. If it's a requirement - that does not square with other PL clubs retaining plastic season tickets. What a muddle! We deserve better than this - least of all, not introducing it all in a mad rush.

There’s a picture from someone on BBS who’s a Gold member this season and received a card through the post yesterday!

Totally confusing!

And if club wants to cut down on plastic just load it on to our old card!

This is absurd and has all kinds of discrimination backslashes written all over it.

Smartphones are not human necessities.
And filtering fans by whether or not they want to be indulged in a modern media life is grounds for discrimination.
Like a previous poster mentioned. Upload data to current/existing cards.

And Everton are charging a fiver.

I'm both annoyed and confused how this is gonna work for me.

I can't have a smart phone as I am VERY light sensitive so have to stick to limited use on a basic phone.

As someone who is not exactly a fan of Parish or how the club treats us after being moved from my seat (of 21 years) 2 seasons ago, this is just another reason for me to gradualy be put off going anymore!
And i'm very sad about feeling this way!

Penny pinching mayhem just a week before the first home game, and Palace are blaming the virus.
It's outrageous that Palace didn't consult supporters before taking their cash.
What if you don't have a smart phone, or a printer, or you can't afford them ?
How do kids get in ? How do you buy tickets for friends or family ?
The present card system is by far the simplest way to use season tickets, no battery to go flat, no screen to freeze.
No doubt it will be chaos at the turnstiles next Saturday.
I have no faith in our ticket office, after they sold me tickets for pre season home games in a stand they subsequently decided to close, and they never even informed me.

I sympathise but sincerely hope something is sorted. You should not have to give up going because of this.
Funny how this was not mentioned prior to selling s/ts. It most definitely is not a PL requirement. Could the supporters trust not take this up?

Thanks Spidey. I'm lucky that I have my fiance who helps me out with computer based things if I do need to print things out or look up info but I feel sorry for some others, maybe the elderly, who don't have anyone to help them.

I still find it strange that someone on the BBS has received a season ticket card (I've seen the picture).

Oh for the days of paying cash at the turnstile and standing on the terracing .

I dont use a mobile let alone a smart one so will wait to see how this progresses . It certainly doesn't seem to favour non st holders who attend when able
