Some would say Greed or you would say???

Now if Messi loved Barcelona and consider he's been at the club 21 years, who helped his talent develop and more, why would he need to have a salary, or say I will play for £1 per year.

He was on £133 million a year and was bankrupting his team.

A year ago he wanted to leave, now he doesn't.

Is all about only Money to Messi?

Even if he offered to play for free Barcelona still couldn’t register him as they still wouldn’t meet La Liga rules.

It’s nothing to do with Messi’s greed. It’s all to do with Barcelona’s financial mismanagement coming back to bite them finally.

Agree, it’s not his fault. Why should he play for 10k a week and umtiti be on 200k,

It’s a complete mismanagement of the whole situation. I am surprised there is not a backlash. If spurs managed Harry Kane like this or if we could not afford to sign Wilf on, there would be uproar.

Barcelona have paid over the odds for years. Huge wages which they cannot afford. Covid has hit them hard, but it goes to show how close they are to the line.

There was a report they were £440m in debt earlier in the year.

I predict the days of Messi the superstar are now over.

'Old man time' is undefeated. The last couple years Messi has ? He will not be winning the champions league , nor even the premier league.

If he comes to England he will get a nasty shock in a very physical league.

Just like maradonna discovered. It is very hard to be labelled the best player in the World. Especially as you try to outrun all the 19 year olds for 95 minutes.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are upset about the new TV deal. The Spanish like to think their league is the best in the world and they have all the top players.

The other day the Barcelona President told La Ligue we will have to let Messi go abroad unless you improve the TV deal for us.

After the debacle of the Super League I doubt the rest of La Ligue are that bothered about losing the best player in the world.

Don't be surprised if Barcelona somehow resolve the situation.

As for Messi he has a talent and is entitled to demand top dollar just the same as Lewis Hamilton or Tyson Fury.

What, does he shoot his mouth off and make a t1t of himself ?

Thousands of comments on this online with people airing their opinions. All they need to do is read what DanH has said here to understand the situation. Sums it up perfectly.

"Chokes"
I agree with everything Dan H says, because it's the truth, and factually correct, and impossible to disprove.
Goodbye cruel world.

Hard to dislike Messi, even with all the dodgy accounts and tax etc. Ronaldo, great player, but don't like him personally.
