Ross Armstrong on Twitter saying we are interested in him. Not sure how reliable that is but reportedly Hughes is in dispute and practicing with the U23s.

He's still only 26. I thought he looked really good when he was at derby, but since his move to Watford I feel that he hasn't really come on. Perhaps championship was his level to shine.

Been a while since I've seen him play but suspect he'd be a decent fit in theory - good on the ball and iirc fairly hard tackling. Not a first team addition necessarily but good cover in midfield where we are short of players who pass consistently enough to the right colour shirt. Simply paper talk I imagine.

Click bait says he is on 30k a week at Watford I can't see us offering him much more than that as I don't think he would be first choice. So unless his wages demands are actually less than that it's a no from me.

The Scummers and Watford are my two pet hates exemplified by Ward-Prowse and Hughes. Not sure about the Hughes rumours. The fact he has fallen out with WFC does not mean Palace will pick him up. Let him go to Villa with JW-P :-) !!!

Watch him sign a new contract in the next week or so
