I also wish him well. An intelligent guy and I loved his darting runs, even if he left his post on those occasions.

PVA, never less than industrious and entertaining, played his part in keeping us in the Prem. Plenty of good times and wish him the best.

PvA was ace for us really all in all. The great left back crisis solved. Yes he was caught out of position time and again but that was for me a factor of playing behind Wilf in good part. 80% of our attack went down that side and his combo with Wilf going forward was critical to scoring whatever goals we did in fact score.

I remember when he signed for us, it felt like a real coup. Great going forward. More importantly for me, he seemed to love his time at Palace. I think in years to come we will look back at his time here as being part of a great squad, that kept us up and at times made us jump up and down. We know about his, at times, defensive frailties but then, more than a few of his goals where excellent. Thanks and Good luck PVA.

We needed a decent left back but he was/is a very good left wing back but also deadly in front of goal. We won't miss him too much but he seemed popular with his team-mates. Good luck Patrick for the future.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

"He seemed to love his time at Palace" is exactly how I will remember him. A humble guy with a smile on his face who never, ever got too big for his boots. Nothing but good memories. Defensive frailties yes, but he will be missed. A proper professional.

I must've been watching a different player to everyone else then. At his best he was good fun, popping up where least expected to support the attack, displaying an agreeable childlike enthusiasm. Over time though it became more evident that his interest in enjoying the game personally outweighed his care for the teams results. This was never more evident than the hundreds of times, increasing in frequency over his time with us and most notably one he decided he wanted to move on, that he couldn't be arsed to defend properly, pulled out of 50/50 challenges and sloppily gave the ball away in our half. Remove the novelty value and assess him on his actual job and as far as I can tell he either wasn't very good or just didn't give a toss.

A player I always liked. Building on those players that got us promoted was a challenge. But he was a signing that was an upgrade and strengthened the quality in our squad. And shockingly, pretty sure that for a good two years or so, scored more goals from open play than our centre forward.

Apparently gone to Galatasaray on a 3 year deal. I think that could well be a good league for PVA.

Changing of the guard, PVA was good at times annoying at times being caught out of position , but more pluses than minuses, will miss him and wish him all the best , and a BIG THANK YOU
