Then how can they even consider going to play a tournament in Qatar.

It would be massive hypocrisy to only select issues that suit your narrative to be outspoken about.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

People have championed causes forever - the world is far too much of a mess for it to be any other way.

I donate to charities tackling homelessness in London - it doesn't mean I don't care about homelessness elsewhere, nor that I don't care about other worthy causes.

Qatar isn't a different issue. Black and Asian people basically in slavery, with thousands dead. It would be totally hypocritical to go there and actually abominable to take a knee there.
That is in addition to the open and obvious corruption and perversion of the bidding process, that has allowed this farce to happen. Anybody with any gumption or the slightest common sense should be able to see that there's absolutely no way a Football World Cup should be in Qatar.

Would fully support them if they did. Abhorrent decision to give it to Qatar in the first place.

I would support any team that boycotts it. Roll on Tehran 2030.

I can imagine the nearer the next world cup comes into view the more dissenting voices we'll hear about its location.

Don't expect a peep out of the FA though!

I know what you mean, the house of Saud murdered a journalist only the other year.

They are heavily invested in London and western contracts. Unlike China they aren't interested in world leadership but rather keeping themselves in power.

Money flows to that end....hence the investment in western economies.
