I was very pleased to see PV appointed after a prolonged and uncomfortable delay in replacing Roy. I think he offers us an exciting future if he can bring his winning mentality to the team. I was also delighted at the quick signing of Olise, who looks like an exciting addition to the squad. But since then things have gone very quiet and apart from some press speculation and the standard obscure rumours, there is little evidence of any serious activity on our part. Surely it is a matter of some urgency for us to get on and add some new, young talent to our ranks. I'd like to hope we will see some further announcements in the very near future. Anyone know whats going on?

What do you mean 'what's going on???' - we have just signed one of Europe's brightest talents from under the noses of Liverpool and Arsenal, and are currently being linked with younger talents, far more than when Hodgson was in charge. Anyway, the players are only just back in pre-season, so transfers usually only liven up a couple of weeks before the start of the season, and this year the deadline has gone back to the end of August as it used to be. So we still have 6 weeks to go yet!!!

These things aren't done overnight and just because neither the mainstream media not the click bait pimps have written about us doesn't mean that nothing is happening. This is the first time that Parish hasn't hinted that we are skint and won't be buying anyone and in fact he has said the exact opposite that we are actively looking to bring people in. Have patience

Whilst the manager has changed, we are still Crystal Palace. Therefore, expect rushing and panicing on deadline day, as per usual.

From reading the clickbate, interviews from the club and the new and potential new signings we are linked with, I think there is a lot to get exited about for the upcoming season. For the last couple of seasons, i must admit, I have been a bit bored with Palace. I love the premiership and obviously, we need to stay in the league but under Roy, who I think was a brilliant manager for us at the right time, we were a very unexciting team to follow. It's a minor complaint from me as we have looked very comfortable during that time, with some great wins mixed in with some very underwhelming results. Nothing really new there. However, I do find myself really looking forward to the upcoming season. The Academy looks amazing. Good young players being linked with and coming to the club. A manager that has a footballing profile that is second to none. A risk, yes but who wouldn't be a risk for us at this stage in our history. I think back to a few seasons ago when we were signing the likes of Meyer. Could we get him?, would he want to come here?. In the end, he could hardly get in the team, a good player that just didn't seem to fit. While I was excited when he came, with hindsight, I think we have come a long way since then. If and it is an if, it all goes to plan, we could have a super competitive young team going forward over the next two or three seasons. That excites me. I look forward to seeing what happens over the next couple of seasons... P.S. And just a quick nailing of my colours to the mast. I don't know what kind of season we are going to have but we will not go down and we will finish above that team, as usual. Thats a good enough season for me at this stage.
