Congratulations! After 2-1 the danish commentators started joking that the only thing which could save us now would be another crazy action from Pickford...

I was unsure why this thread had started as 'The Euros' was in full flight. But, well done you Satan-Claus and thank you. Very sporting of you and, as my fellow HOLers have said already the Danish team have been great throughout especially after Ericsson's collapse. We'll all be buying Lurpak, Carlsberg and Danish bacon as a gesture of support. By the way, I don't think the Danish commentators were joking about Pickford.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

You must be near where Badehotellet is set, we've had two series on over here and I thought it was excellent.

Very generous of the OP, but I think there should be a re-match behind closed doors. It stinks.

Well it is a dive as you state. 'England’s penalty leads to cries of hypocrisy across the continent', land of fair play etc. English lectures on foreigners diving can now be consigned to the bin. A shame the ref, who had a fine game, bottled it on this occasion, add the '2 balls' incident where he did not act either, if it happened to us we would be screaming blue murder. There is a feeling across the continent that England's ride has been 'smoothed out' generally in the euros.

Little doubt in my mind that he played for the penalty. Happens all the time though and, as much as I despise the practice, it often works against us (England and Palace) so it seems reasonable that we have a decision in our favour.
