I just cringe whenever Robert Jenrick appears on TV, he just oozes untrustworthiness for me, same vibe emanated from Hancock.

Gavin Williamson, can't put my finger on it but also something there that I don't like.

Gove for me has never been fit for purpose in high office

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

This is where being in the Ruling Classes gets you. Your family is wealthy, you are sent to Public School where you learn Latin and Art and Literature, and other useful subjects for the real world.
You inherit your family wealth (with the assistance of adept accountants minimising tax) and through family networks, you find yourself as a Corporate Head, or a Government/political position.
It is entrenched in the Ruling classes psyche that they know best.
And voting for any of these cunces just validates their reasoning and perpetuates the system.

I disengage, I turn the page.

You're presumably talking about Hilary Benn whose family avoided taxes by donating his father's diaries to the nation.

"Ruling classes " ? seriously

The worst ruling classes were probably those in the Soviet Union in terms of mistreatment of the population

Good talk

I agree with you concerning Jenrick and Williamson, but I've reached the conclusion that in the strict legal sense of "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" there isn't an honest politician in the land.

Many years ago I wrote to our Liberal candidate to point out an untruth in his election pamphlet. He wrote back to say it was okay to put a positive "spin" on the subject in question. No, it's not: "spinning" is lying, and I blame Blair, Mandelson and Campbell - the original spinners of the truth - for starting the descent into the political gutter in which we currently find ourselves.

That was just the style of deceit. It was always there and has always been there just through different forms.

In the good old days they were able to hide behind so much secrecy and so little scrutiny and accountability. Deceit just adapted to the new world.

Apologies for getting in the way of an opportunistic attack on Labour

Oh dear, how sensitive you are. I thought it would have been clear from my reference to the gutter in which we currently find ourselves that my criticism was aimed at both mainstream parties (as well as the Liberals). One started it, the other took over the baton with enthusiasm.

Certainly Blair, Mandelson and Campbell are in a league of their when it comes to telling massive whoppers without blinking an eyelid when they cause thousands of avoidable deaths in a war that should not have happened,

I don't agree with much of what the current government spins but for me, the Big Three are way out there

I really don't get how Campbell gets airtime still, if he was Pinocchio his nose would circle the planet

Great post.
Blair and Campbell were two thoroughly unpleasant and unscrupulous individuals - AC in particular.
As I have said on other threads - Politicians of every party are generally downright liars and scoundrels who should never get a job running a country when they have trouble even running a bath!

What's the least untalented cabinet that you've come across then?
