... I'm not sure I should have put this on Nostalgia Talk
bcos it's like watching The Big Match Revisited. The team play of the Swiss and the Czechs compared to our celtic cousins was on another level - the Scots and Welsh could harry and get the ball in quick and hope a ricochet landed kindly so got the odd shot or two, but their set up and approach looks about thirty years out of date, esp the Scots, who have half a dozen decent players but some straight out of Motherwell's reserves (Lyndon Dykes??? hello!) Or am I exaggerating or being unkind?

Let's hope for a repeat on Friday night.

Actually it was a typical Scottish performance, they were not outplayed and had their chances, so near and yet...

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The last time I recall Scotland being anywhere close to World Class was when a 3d stamp would get your heavy parcel, car, house and family sent to Australia.

And that was only because the other countries really were shlt, and there was no money in football.

Or the Scottish wet-dream.
Not the one involving 3 bottles of whisky and couple of crack-whores, but the one where,.....

it's very hard to underrate these jocks, they couldn't get out of their own half for the last ten minutes of their last game, England need to win and will make mincemeat out of them ... 3-0 at half time, they may take it easy second half.

hope you are correct, but being a Palace boy...always cautious , i'm never comfortable 3-0 up unless we're in injury time!
scots should attack, which i expect will suit us.
cmon england.

A Turkey takes on a Whale today. Bit of a no-contest. What with the Whale being maasssiive, and the Turkey being so small.
1-0 to Wales I reckon.

They will play far better against us than they did against the Czechs. It's in their DNA Braveheart and all that, still unless our defence has a mare I am going for 2-0.
