Lets make a list.

For openers :

Battersea Power Station, was once traded for the princely sum of One Pound.......and now its somebody else's nightmare for insurance, tax, rates, upkeep etc etc.

The 'One quid house' in Italy scheme. Buy a derelict ruin in Corleone and do it up. Sounds like daylight robbery. Contractually obliged to spend a ton on renovations, from the local builders. To own a nice house in a ghost town.

Any 20 year old French Car.

Some types of mobile phone.

'Dry clean only' trousers from a January Sale at the Whitgift.

A pitbull-Staffordshire cross, huge legal & compensation bills to all the victims.

others ?

Computer printers.

I've got no idea how much I've spent on new ink cartridges, but it sure is more than I spent on the printer.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Elderly rescue-dogs.

A person i know has spent the price of a house in Knightsbridge on all the vet bills. But she is an idiot. The mutt finally croaked and the vet's accountant went into mourning.

A fella at work bought an old Audi A3, good price, but £600 for a new turbo fitting, £240 to have the alloy wheel scuffs and scratches sorted, £80 each for new tyres, the word ‘bargain’ has gone out of the window!!
