Now we are able to actually leave the house, we like to have the occasional drive to the coast. Worthing is our nearest, we like the walk along the front and the availability of free parking. However we have not found a decent fish and chip shop near the front. Any suggestions please?

Not Worthing, but Chippy Chips in Hove is excellent.

My abode is about 15-20 mins from Worthing but I hardly ever visit the town. Locally I have heard good reports of the 'Crab Shack' restaurant on the seafront (Shops end) but it is not a traditional takeaway Fish & chips establishment and I have never availed of its hospitality. What’s the parking costs for Brighton these days? £70 for the day or something?

From East to West The Perch in Lancing a good little cafe on the seafront. The Coast Cafe is great not Fish n Chip shop. Harry Ramsdens opposite Worthing pier. (Two chip shops 50m away into town which are ok can be hit and miss) Sealane Cafe west out of worthing is nice but gets very busy. Then in Ferring The Bluebird Cafe very good very popular gets crowded traditional Cafe.
I ride a GS scooter with my hair cut neat |

Worthing Fisheries ok as a takeaway. Junction of A259 and George V in Goring on the west side. Or pop along to Sea Lane cafe. Probably doing take aways at the moment.

We too like Worthing - much easier than Brighton or Hove for parking and then for our 9-year old son to ride his bike or scooter along the promenade or in Steyne Gardens. We often follow-up with a visit to Crab Shack - somewhat limited menu but excellent food and atmosphere.

Only Chippy worth braving the crowds for in town is Chipwick in East Worthing on Brighton road near junction of Selden Road. Excellent fresh fried produce. Restaurant is clean and airy. Very popular and when I queue I drop into a superb Craft Beer Shop on the row called Beer No Evil! All really sings when the sun comes out.
