sky commentator just said that in 8 out of the last 9 seasons , 37 points guaranteed survival. so fear not the dreaded freak run of results.

Safe with NINE games to go is an incredible achievement considering all the injuries and lack of investment. Yes the football has not been too great but most of the other premier league games have been similar - not much real quality on offer apart from the occasional decent game. So well done Roy and the players for getting the job done so early. Hopefully once fans return we will see more urgency and passion from all the teams

37 points with 9 games to,play. Surely we must muster at least another 5 - 8 points so 42 - 45 points must be an achievable total -‘now the pressure is off !

Ultimately, safety is the bottom line for a club like ours with a ton of injuries and no investment. Statements like "we should have been beaten by Brighton and Fulham" are meanlinless as we didn't Like it or not, Roy seems to get the job done with games to spare. I'm not a massive fan of his but have to acknowledge what he has ultimately achieved with very limited resources Originally posted by glaziermart

Safety is all that matters anywhere It’s not. It’s about enjoyment, pride and being part of the club. We’ve become a nothing team with no identity and are just making up the numbers. My bet is that if Roy remains next season there will be a lot of empty seats at Selhurst Park. The life has been sucked out of us and we have nothing to offer without Zaha. We just hang in for dear life every game in the hope we might nick a goal, which amazingly we’ve been doing recently.

Safety is all that matters anywhere So true, but at times it is a hard watch. We've hit 37 points and, barring snookers, we are safe. Maybe now is the time to start giving some of our promising youngsters a chance of playing with the big boys. You never know, even Matata may get some more game time People are saying we were lucky against the weed and Fulham. No we weren't lucky. Our defence did their job, and did it bloody well. It wasn't lucky that their strikers couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, it was because they just weren't good enough. Benteke's last gasp goal against the weed, in a game against what many feel are our fiercest rivals, at their place, for me, made my season. As well as the satisfaction of unexpectedly winning, it gave me great joy to think of the weed fans putting their heads in their hands in horror, foaming at the mouth in rage, throwing things at their telly, shouting rude words and generally be in a state of deep unhappiness

Obviously it’s great that we have 37 points and are nearly safe. But it is undeniable that we got away with it against Brighton, Fulham and WBA and our football is so negative and hard to watch. Fingers crossed we see a different approach to the remaining 9 games.
