After their latest defeat at Everton last night, I thought I'd take a squint at their supporters forum to guage how they're feeling.

Surprisingly, they're not yet giving much grief to the manager, Ralph thingy, although there are suggestions that he's frustrated at the lack of ambition by the owners. Not until yesterday, as far as I could see, did anyone suggest he was culpable for their recent freefall and that he is obstinate in his tactics.

They also appear convinced they'll stay up, but someone started a thread saying they'd be happy to finish 17th, with the caveat that they also have a quarter final under their belts. Not a very ambitious view I thought.

Anyhow, all very interesting. This football malarky gets supporters from all clubs up in arms about exactly the same things. If it's not the manager's tactics it's the team he selects. Not to mention the quality of the players.

Funny old game.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I heard on the radio a couple of weeks ago that they've got the lowest net spend in last 3 years due to owners wanting out. They may have problems next season too as it seems that Ings and Bertrand don't want to sign new contracts.

I am a bit mystified by their form. I know they started slowly ( they must have as they lost at home to Palace) but as they climbed the table I assumed they would be on for at least a mid table finish.

At least we haven't suffered a 9-0 defeat two seasons on the trot.

I had a feeling Saints would tumble, not great squad depth.

They bounced back from that 9-0 quickly, I think they have too much quality to go down now.

Should have got a point last night in my view.

Their 'Net Spend' this season has only been around £12.5 Mill.
They bought 3 players on permanent deals but Hojbjerg was one of the players they sold and he transferred to Tottenham for around £15 Mill.
